New Table for Two Cooking Series With Chef Warren Caterson Starts Wednesday at Manatee Libraries

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (October 23, 2017) – In response to customer requests for cooking programs and the popularity of other food demos, Manatee Libraries is launching a new cooking series by Chef Warren Caterson, starting Wednesday, October 25.

 

Award-winning cookbook author of Table for Two: The Cookbook for Couples and Table for Two: Back for Seconds, Caterson has developed an entertaining and energetic presentation, where he shares dozens of kitchen tips, cooking hints and humorous anecdotes about the joys and challenges of cooking for two.

 

Five sessions are planned at Downtown and Rocky Bluff libraries in October, November and December, each focusing on creating new healthier recipes in the home, using fresh and readily available ingredients.

 

Each session is free, and samples will be provided.

 

10 Meals in 10 Minutes 

Fast doesn’t have to mean unhealthy. Chef Warren provides tips for creating healthy meals in a hurry.

Spanish Cuisine for Two Cooking Demo 

The cuisines of Andalucía, Basque Country, Valencia, Catalonia (where Chef Warren’s first cookbook in Spain was written) will be explored. SAT, OCT 28, 11:30 to 12:30 @ Downtown Central Library

 

Thankful Thanksgiving Cooking Demo 

Chef Warren explains how to cook a Thanksgiving meal without losing your mind and will discuss how to roast a turkey so every part comes out tender, easier ways to make gravy that is quick and lump free, how to make a large meal in a small kitchen and how to ensure your turkey stays moist when reheated. SAT, NOV 18, 11:30 to 12:30 @ Downtown Central Library

 

Stressless Holiday Entertaining 

Chef Warren demonstrates how to prepare appetizers without spending hours and shows how to prepare an entrée in under 30 minutes that will not only wow your guests. WED, DEC 6, 2 to 3 PM @ Rocky Bluff Library

 

Cooking With Wine Demo 

Chef Warren explains the best wine to cook with and serve with certain foods, alcohol “burn off,” marinating meat in wine, differences between cooking and regular wine and sulfites. SAT, DEC 9, 11:30 to 12:30 @ Downtown Central Library

 

The Chef Warren Cooking Series is free and open to the public. Additional sessions will be added in 2018 and provided on the Library’s Website at mymanatee.org/library and social media @manalibraries.
