Manatee County announces 2017 holiday schedule

Below is a listing of upcoming holiday closures across Manatee County Government. County offices will be closed:

Thanksgiving on Thurs., Nov. 23 and Fri., Nov. 24;
Christmas Day, Mon., Dec. 25 and Tues., Dec. 26
and New Year's Day, Mon., Jan. 1, 2018.

 Garbage, yard waste and recycling are suspended on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Collection services are postponed one day for the remainder of the week and resume the following Monday. 

On the days government offices are closed public parks, preserves and beaches remain open to the public. Manatee County and Buffalo Creek golf courses will remain open throughout the holidays.
G.T. Bray Recreation Center will close at 7 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 22. It will also be closed on Nov 23 and Nov 24. Bray will close at noon on Sun., Dec. 24 and will reopen on Wed., Dec. 27. Bray will close at noon on Sun., Dec. 31 and will reopen on Tues., Jan. 2. 
Manatee County public libraries will be closed for Thanksgiving from Nov. 23 - Nov. 26, resuming a normal weekly schedule on Nov. 27. Downtown, Island and Rocky Bluff libraries will close early on Nov. 22 at 6 p.m.)

Libraries will close for Christmas on Dec. 24 - 26 and will reopen Dec. 27. All libraries will be closed on New Year's Day. 
MCAT fixed route, Handy Bus, and Longboat Key Shuttleservices will not be available on Thanksgiving Day.
There will be no fixed route or Handy Bus services  and the Anna Maria Trolley will stop running at 7 pm. on Christmas Eve. 
On Christmas Day there will be no fixed route, Handy Bus, or Longboat Key Shuttle service. The Anna Maria Trolley and beach express will run regular service on Christmas Day. On New Year's Eve, the Anna Maria Trolley will run extended hours until 1 a.m.  There will be no fixed route, Handy Bus, para transit or Longboat Key Shuttle service on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, but the Anna Maria Trolley and beach express will run regular service.
