Thanksgiving openings, closings around Manatee County Government
MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Nov. 22, 2010) – Manatee County Government offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Nov. 26 to commemorate Thanksgiving.
Residents in unincorporated Manatee will not have trash pickup Thursday. Thursday’s collections will be collected on Friday. Friday’s collections will be collected on Saturday.
On Thanksgiving Day, Manatee County Area Transit will suspend fixed route service, but the Anna Maria Trolley and Beach Express will operate. MCAT buses will operate at full service on Friday, but there will be no Beach Express service. MCAT administration offices will be closed both Thursday and Friday.
Manatee County parks and beaches will be open to the public, but the G.T. Bray Recreation Center facilities such as pools, the gym, tennis courts, fitness center and youth camps at G.T. Bray Park will be closed Thursday and Friday. G.T. Bray and Blackstone skate parks will remain open during normal hours through the holiday and weekend. Manatee County and Buffalo Creek golf courses will reserve tee times Thursday from 7 - 10 a.m., and will be open normal hours on Friday and the weekend.
Manatee County’s publicly owned natural preserves will remain open on Thanksgiving.
Manatee County libraries will be closed both Thursday and Friday. Central Library, Anna Maria Island and Rocky Bluff branches will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 24.
