Manatee County Accepting Applications for Manatee County Public Library Board of Trustees

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Dec. 16, 2015) – Manatee County announced today openings for three Citizens Advisory Committee members who make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on the Manatee County Public Library Board of Trustees. The Library Board is responsible for creating and recommending policy for the operation of the Library System to the Board of County Commissioners.

The openings are as follows: 

   A representative for the City of Bradenton. Applicants must be a resident of the City of Bradenton. They are appointed by the City Council of the City of Bradenton. 

   A representative for the City of Palmetto. Applicants must be a resident of the City of Palmetto. They are appointed by the City Council of the City of Palmetto. 

 A representative of the Island Communities. Applicants must reside within one of the following zip codes: 34209, 34216, 34217, or 34228. They are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, after consideration of any recommendations made by the island municipalities.

Each member is appointed for a term of four years.

The group generally meets on the third Thursday of each month at 2:45 p.m. at the Central Library, 1301 Barcarrota Boulevard West, Bradenton.
