County offices closed, County e-mail service inactive during MLK Jr. holiday weekend

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Jan. 15, 2015) – Manatee County Government offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 19 to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Also, through the holiday weekend the County's e-mail system will be inactive as IT teams transition more than 1,600 Manatee County Government accounts to Microsoft Outlook e-mail.

 Manatee County Commissioners and employees will be unable to send or receive e-mail from Friday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. until Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 8 a.m. E-mail that is sent to County addresses during that time will be delivered and correctly time stamped but they will not reach their intended recipients until Tuesday morning. 

 
The County's main help line (941) 748-4501 will remain active throughout the weekend. 
 
Central Library, the only County library open on Mondays, will be closed for the holiday and will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 20.
 
Trash and recycling pickup schedules will continue as normal next week. Manatee County Area Transit and the Anna Maria Island Trolley will operate normal daily routes. 
 
Manatee County’s publicly owned natural preserves will remain open. Manatee County parks and beaches will be open to the public. Manatee County and Buffalo Creek Golf Courses will be open.  
 
G.T. Bray Recreation Center will be closed Monday, Jan. 19.
