Minor, temporary service changes planned for MCAT riders during DeSoto Parade this weekend

  • Apr 24, 2015

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (April 24, 2015) – This weekend’s DeSoto Parade will cause a slight change for MCAT passengers who ride the bus from downtown Bradenton to Palmetto.

Tomorrow during the parade, Route 99 buses serving the Business U.S. 41 corridor will end northbound service at the Downtown Station in downtown Bradenton from 4 – 7 p.m. No bus service will be provided between the Downtown Bradenton Station and Palmetto at those times.  This will affect both Manatee County (MCAT) and Sarasota County (SCAT) buses that provide Route 99 service.

MCAT will  run shuttles that will bypass the parade using local streets to accommodate passengers who need to reach Palmetto.  MCAT road supervisors will be on site to assist drivers and bus passengers.  For more information on the DeSoto Parade service change, please contact MCAT at 941-747-8621.

Regular service for both MCAT and SCAT will resume after 7 p.m.
