MANATEE COUNTY, FL (March 9, 2016) – Manatee County Commissioners yesterday unanimously waived MCAT fares to accommodate voters on three voting dates this year.

MCAT buses and paratransit buses will run free of charge during the March 15 Presidential Preference Primary, the Aug. 30 Primary Election and the Nov. 8 General Election. All fixed-route bus service passengers will be allowed to board MCAT buses for free on the election days. Buses and trolleys will not deviate from their established fixed-routes or schedules. Paratransit riders are asked to call (941) 748-2317 in advance to schedule a ride to their polling place.

The actions demonstrate the County’s commitment to “getting out the vote” by promoting participation in the election process and helping members of the public exercise their right to vote.
