Dan Schlandt was named as a Deputy County Administrator in December, 2006. In addition to general support to the County Administrator, his primary areas of responsibility are in the areas of growth and development including planning, building, infrastructure planning, public works and economic development. 


Schlandt worked for almost 20 years in the Manatee County Financial Management Department serving as Budget Manager and administering the county’s five year capital improvement program before moving to the County Administrator’s office. He received his Bachelor’s degree and Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Florida.


Schlandt is a member of the International City and County Management Association and the Florida City and County Management Association and serves on the Economic Development Council of the Manatee County Chamber of Commerce. He has been involved in a number of coaching and administration activities in youth sports for many years.

Note: Karen Windon, Manatee County’s longtime Deputy County Administrator, officially retired from County Government during the summer of 2017. Karen served nearly 37 years with Manatee County Government, including more than a decade as Deputy County Administrator.


The position will remain vacant for the time being. Cheri Coryea and John Osborne are performing many of the second Deputy Administrator’s responsibilities until the position can be filled at a later date.
