Public Safety Coordinating Council

Purpose

The Public Safety Coordinating Council shall assess the population status of all correctional facilities to ensure the authorized capacities of such facilities, as established by the Florida Department of Corrections, are not exceeded, and make recommendations as to release programs, gain-time schedules, applicable bail bond schedules, and confinement status of inmates housed within each facility owned by the County. The Council may also develop a local correctional facilities plan for future construction needs.

 

Membership Requirements

Membership shall be as specified by Chapter 951.26, Florida Statutes.

The Advisory Board application must be completed and submitted for the applicant to be considered for appointment. The application is available for downloading on the upper right side of this web page.

Meetings

The Public Safety Coordinating Council has elected to meet on the following dates in 2018 from Noon - 1:00 pm. January 17, April 18, July 18, and October 17. All meetings will be held in the Board of County Commissioners Conference Room, on the 9th Floor of the Manatee County Administration Building 1112 Manatee Avenue West Bradenton, FL. 34205 unless otherwise noticed.
