Citizens Financial Structure Advisory Board

Purpose

To make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners that represent the consensus of the Advisory Board regarding matters related to the best combination of available revenue sources to fund county services, programs, and capital projects. This Advisory Board was created on October 20, 2015 and became sunset on May 1, 2016.

 

Membership

The Advisory Board was made up of thirteen (13) members chosen by the Board of County Commissioners from all areas and segments of the population. Each Commissioner appointed one member of the Advisory Board who at the time of appointment was a resident in the Commissioner's district. In addition, each of the following six organizations recommended one member of their organization to serve on the Advisory Board.

  • Mac Carraway - The Manatee Chamber of Commerce
  • Paul Adamson - Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance
  • Tarnisha Cliatt - Black Chamber of Commerce
  • Karen LaPensee - Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce
  • Eva Gonzalez - Gulf Coast Latin Chamber of Commerce  (seat originally filled by Junior Salazar)
  • Mike Moschella - Bradenton Area Economic Development Corporation

Members appointed by Commissioners from their districts:

  • Lou Marinaccio - Commissioner Baugh
  • Ron Allen - Commissioner Benac
  • Tom Garland - Commissioner Bustle
  • Chuck Slater - Commissioner Chappie
  • Kerry Kacherian - Commissioner DiSabatino
  • Pastor Charles Williams - Commissioner Smith
  • David Zaccagnino - Commissioner Whitmore
