Former Community Redevelopment Agency/Districts

The Manatee County Community Redevelopment Agency, now dissolved, was a public entity created in 2002 for the purpose of revitalizing the County’s central neighborhoods and commercial corridor. Effective October 2014, the Community Redevelopment Agency, the two redevelopment districts, their authorities, and advisory boards have been dissolved. In their stead, a new larger area that encompasses the former CRA districts, the Southwest County Improvement District, has been created and governed by the Board of County Commissioners. Staff support will continue to be provided through the Manatee County Redevelopment and Economic Opportunity Department.
